By opening Spotify, you might have seen a notification introducing a new function called the Miniplayer. This feature allows for easy access to music sharing, basic playback control, and quick previews of the current tracks.
Spotify aims to make it easy to switch tracks seamlessly while listening, particularly for those who enjoy exploring playlists and podcasts, ensuring minimal interruptions with the miniplayer for a continuous listening experience.
Miniplayer lets users shuffle the playback queue, loop a song, and easily add or delete a track from their library with a single click, without needing to open the main app.
The miniplayer can be displayed in three different ways: as a square, rectangle, or bar.
Is overlay effective?
I am afraid of having windows overlapping each other, so I use an ultrawide monitor to have all my applications open without any overlap. However, I don’t mind having the miniplayer on the screen as it stays in the corner and is convenient for switching music.
How can the miniplayer be activated?
If you haven’t seen the notification while opening Spotify, it could be because your version is old or you are not a premium user. Only premium users have access to this feature.
The app was updated but the new feature didn’t show up. There is a button that is always visible to activate the miniplayer.
I enjoy using the miniplayer and plan to continue using it, although I am unsure about which design version to use, leaning towards the bar format with command buttons.
Error
The miniplayer on Spotify should automatically open when the app is launched, but it reverts to a closed state when the app is closed and reopened.
