Apple’s supposed plans to introduce an electric car have been abandoned, according to anonymous sources from Bloomberg. The company has reportedly informed its employees about the cancellation of the project, suggesting that the anticipated “Apple Car” may never materialize.
The report indicates that the development of the Apple electric car has been terminated.

Apple had a team of 2,000 employees working on the electric car design, as reported by Bloomberg. Recently, the project was cancelled, with Apple’s operations director, Jeff Williams, and project vice president, Kevin Lynch, sharing the news.
Some individuals working on Apple’s electric car project have been reassigned to the company’s AI department, while others will be let go. The exact number of employees who will be leaving Apple has not been disclosed.
Apple has not officially confirmed that it is working on a car, despite long-standing rumors on the subject.
Speculations in 2016 suggested that Apple cut down its team working on an electric and autonomous vehicle project by removing key executives.
Earlier this year, a former Apple employee named Xiaolang Zhan was given a 120-day sentence in California for stealing Apple’s car design information to send to a Chinese automotive firm.
Before the recent report on February 27, Bloomberg stated that Apple chose not to pursue the development of a self-driving vehicle and shifted its focus. Allegedly, the company’s intention was to create an electric car and introduce it by 2028.
