The Free Market has implemented strict actions to address products violating its rules, with Brazil leading in the removal of over 5.4 million items, including 1.6 million exclusions. This aligns with Anatel’s recent update to combat smuggling on e-commerce platforms in Brazil.
1.6 million products are not eligible for sale on the Free Market in Brazil.
The sale of counterfeit goods was the main reason for excluding posts in several countries, including Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, and Uruguay. Conversely, in Colombia, Chile, and Peru, exclusions were mostly related to books.
The majority of exclusions in various categories, including fake products, books, games, and animals, were identified by the system itself, with a small percentage attributed to user complaints, as per the company’s report.

While 5.4 million excluded products may appear significant, it is worth considering the total number of active posts on the platform during the same period, which exceeded 651 million. In relation to this figure, the removal of products represents only a small portion, approximately 0.84%.
