Microsoft starts alerting users about the approaching end of Windows 10.

Microsoft is warning users about the upcoming end of support for Windows 10, set for October 14, 2025, even though it is still 18 months away. Users are being advised to switch to Windows 11 as the current version will no longer receive updates after the specified date.

The alert started appearing following the most recent security update for the system. It seems that this notification has been created for Windows 10 users who are unable to switch to Windows 11 because of hardware limitations.

There is no clear method for removing the ad as the company did not provide a rejection option; instead, you can only delay it or select “Learn more” to access additional details.

Microsoft’s choice to issue notifications months prior to the conclusion of Windows 10 assistance is expected, given that the company previously implemented a similar approach with Windows 7. It is curious, however, that they did not reference the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program, which is now accessible to regular users as well.

Is it safe to use Windows 10 without updating it?

Windows 10 continues to be the most widely used operating system, significantly surpassing Windows 11. Despite the discontinuation of support, it is still possible to use it, but this may expose you to security risks that could jeopardize your data and devices.
