HyperOS has been selected for release on Xiaomi and Redmi devices according to Xiaomi’s official HyperOS profile on a new platform called “X”. The update for the new operating system is expected to roll out to various mobile, tablet, and smartwatch models in the first half of 2024, such as the Redmi Note 13 series, Xiaomi 12, and Xiaomi 13.
Xiaomi’s HyperOS update timetable
Xiaomi’s flagship phone will be among the first to get the HyperOS update, and the Redmi Note series will follow shortly after.
Xiaomi and Redmi models scheduled to receive the HyperOS update in the first half of 2024:
- Xiaomi Series 13 includes models such as Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13 Pro, Xiaomi 13 Ultra, and Xiaomi 13 Lite.
- Xiaomi 13T Series includes Xiaomi 13T and Xiaomi 13T Pro.
- Xiaomi Series 12 includes Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 12 Lite.
- Xiaomi 12T Series includes the Xiaomi 12T and Xiaomi 12T Pro.
- Redmi Note 13 is available in different versions such as Redmi Note 13 4G, Redmi Note 13 5G, Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G, Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, and Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus 5G.
- Redmi Note 12 5G Series includes the Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G, and Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G.
- Xiaomi Pad 6 and Redmi Pad SE are both types of tablets.
When a smartphone or tablet updates to HyperOS from MIUI, it does not guarantee an upgrade to Android 14. Instead, the device may receive a HyperOS version that is built on Android 13.
Xiaomi did not specify if all the mentioned models would receive an update to Android 14 and HyperOS, so we need to await further details.
