Facebook and Instagram experienced technical issues that impacted millions of users globally on Tuesday afternoon. Reports from Downdetector, a real-time website monitoring service, indicated that the problems started around 12:09 PM.
Social media users began experiencing issues with accessing their accounts and updating their feeds, with the situation deteriorating rapidly within 15 minutes of the initial reports, resulting in over 38,000 interruption notifications indicating network failure.
Platform technicians have not identified the exact reasons for the instability, but a tweet from Andy Stone, the group spokesperson managing the networks, acknowledged the issues and stated that they are actively addressing the problem.
Elon Musk recently commented on the X app, seemingly addressing issues with Mark Zuckerberg’s platforms.
