I am very dissatisfied with Motorola’s devices, especially the Edge line, as they are quickly discontinued without warning on the brand’s website in Brazil.
The Edge 30, 30 Fusion, 30 Pro, and 30 Ultra phones have been discontinued. Let’s explore the reasons behind this starting from the release of these four models.
- Edge 30 Pro was launched on 24/02/2022, over 2 years ago.
- Edge 30 was launched on 27/04/2022, which was nearly two years ago.
- Edge 30 Fusion will be available on 08/09/2022 and will be released in one and a half years.
- Edge 30 Ultra will be released on August 9, 2022, which is a year and a half from now.
All items showcased were launched a minimum of 18 months ago, a period that I think is insufficient for a mobile device to become outdated.
I have no authority to criticize Motorola’s business decisions. The main issue is the absence of a flagship model in the Edge series. The Edge 40 and 40 Neo are now the primary products in this line, although they are seen as mid-range devices in other markets.
Edge 30 Neo was released on September 8, 2022, along with the 30 Fusion and 30 Ultra. The reason for Edge 30 Neo staying on the market while the others did not might be due to its sales performance.
Anatel has given the green light to the Edge 50 Pro, specifically the XT2403-2 model. It is anticipated that we may see another Pro version or possibly even an improved Ultra Edge model.
Do other companies follow suit?
Samsung generally only offers products from the current generation, with the exception of the FE line. However, older models like the S23 line can still be found for sale.
In contrast to other companies, you can purchase the iPhone 13 from Apple’s official website, albeit at a high price.
