Elon Musk announced that his new AI, Grok, will now be available to Twitter Premium subscribers this week, expanding access beyond just Premium+ users. The Twitter CEO shared the news on Tuesday, emphasizing the wider availability of the AI assistant.
Musk’s interactions with AI have been intricate, involving a dispute with OpenAI over the adoption of an open-source approach with ChatGPT and threats of legal action against Microsoft for utilizing AI with Twitter data. OpenAI countered these claims by releasing Musk’s emails demonstrating their understanding of the company’s trajectory.
Grok is on the way.
Grok was exclusive to Premium+ membership, priced at $16 per month, compared to $8 for Premium. Access to Grok has now been expanded following Musk’s choice to release it as open source. The version on GitHub differs from the one used by Twitter users as it is from an earlier development stage.
Later this week, Grok will be enabled for all premium subscribers (not just premium+) https://t.co/4u9lbLwe23
